Shadow passes, light remains

The sun is always there. The earth rotates and some parts become hidden from the light and darkness came. Still, in the darkness, reflection of sunlight can be seen on the moon. The moon is a gentle reminder of the bright sun.

Because of this rotation of the earth we experience duality. Night and day. Dark and light. But it’s two sides of the same coin, two ends of the same stick. Can’t have one without the other.

Just like it is impossible to have a coin with just one side, it is impossible to stay on the light all the time. We can try, by keep running towards the east – so life becomes a perpetual sunrise temporarily. But sooner or later we gotta stop for a breath. Then darkness catches up. And if we are afraid of the dark, we can’t enjoy life.

If we can accept dark as part of the whole package, perhaps instead of racing the sunrise all the time, we can take a leisurely stroll through both day and night. Through dark and light. Enjoy the sunshine during the day, enjoy the moonlight during the night. Just remember the sun is always there – even in the darkest night.
